A beginner-friendly intro to HTML & CSS
Over one epic weekend, we'll teach you the basics of coding in HTML & CSS, the languages that make up the foundations of all websites. Over the course of 10 hours of classes and various practical activities, you’ll master the skills… not just hear about them.
In this weekend coding bootcamp, you will learn:
Think of website sections in terms of building blocks
Utilize Visual Studio Code to create and manage code files
Skin website elements to match mock-ups with CSS
Mix in content and pre-made widgets like Youtube videos and Google Maps
Deploy a website to a public web server with a unique web address
Hack (or harmlessly modify) popular websites like Facebook, Netflix or Google
Plan a website layout based on a mock-up (aka design)
Structure website layouts using HTML
Integrate reusable styles and layouts with Twitter's Bootstrap framework
Store code in source control with GitHub
